Non-Volatile RAM Products
Non-volatile
memory holds data securely even without power – an
essential trait for many applications. Flash
memory is the most common non-volatile RAM technology, but it has
very slow write cycles and limited endurance. FRAM is a relatively
new non-volatile technology with
much faster write cycles; however, it also suffers from limited endurance.
TufFRAM®, currently under development, is a proprietary variety of FRAM.
This technology promises non-volatile memory
chips roughly comparable to DRAM in cost, density, speed, and endurance. The
underlying science is now well proven; commercial products will be developed in
the near future.
